Do You Want to Live in Hawaii for FREE?

A friend of mine is looking for a house sitter for his cool off-grid home in the Kamaili area of Pahoa, Hawaii.

You must be available to house sit for 6 months … starting on April 10th to the end of October 2017.

This home is remote.  You’ll need to have a car to get around.

This lava built studio is ideal for ONE rugged RAW VEGAN.  There are a couple of big circular openings on the side of the house which are not enclosed by windows.  This means you’ll be living with geckos, mosquitoes and other potential critters.

There’s no kitchen (no place to cook food) or bathroom. There is running water to one sink.  The water comes from rain fall and is stored in a very small 120 gallon catchment container.  Keep in mind … NO RAIN = NO WATER.

Since the rain water is not treated in any way, you should NOT drink the water.  The owner fills up 5 gallon jugs of water at the local health food store in town for his water needs. Another reason to have a car.

The bed is suspended in the air, so it feels like you’re on a cloud.  I don’t recommend it for two people.

There is no bathroom.  There is a compost toilet area outside.  Just add a bucket underneath to collect your pee and poop.

The shower consists of a hose with a shower head attached to an Ohia tree.

There is minimal electricity from a solar panel. There’s no public utilities … no cable, no TV reception, no internet, no cell service.

There are some banana trees, veggies, and herbs growing on the property.

Please feel free to share this on Facebook or Twitter.  Thank you!

I am possibly interested in house sitting here. How far away is the nearest cafe or store for Internet access and to buy fruits/groceries/other items?

    Hiya.

This sounds like a perfect opportunity for a young (and vegan!) female like myself. I’d love to hear from you if this is is still available.

Aloha! I would be very interested in this prospect as a fellow raw vegan, but how can I get in touch with you?
    Thanks for your time!

When we first began building our off grid home, we had amenities similar to this. I admit that since we finally finished the home; we have not been into camping as much.
